SITUATION INTERVIEW
Hey guys. Thanks for great mix! Please tell us where you are from and who makes up the
"Situation" collective?
There's a bunch of us dotted around , but the core hail from deep in the 5 valleys of Stroud, UK.
How did you all connect?
Free parties, deep house, cold feet & all that nonsense way back when...
Have you been making music together for while and do you dj together too?
We've been making music for around 10 years, but have been developing the Situation edits
stuff for the past 3 years or so. Yeah, we all DJ and tend to play a lot of our own stuff, edits etc.
With the new record out, we're really looking forward to get out this summer and play some of
the new stuff.
Your sound seems quite evolved, like you know what bits to push, extend etc. to get the
floor going and it shows a love of disco, house, electro and generally music with soul. Can
you describe your influences?
70’s Disco/Funk, 80’s Boogie/Electro, Detroit sound, New York garage, Manchester, Acid
house, Bristol sound, deep house circa 92, Italo, Thrash ,etc etc Any solid soulful music that
moves you & makes you move ...
Your first single "Pushing On" is out this week and I heard that Greg Wilson was really into
from the first time he heard it?
We gave a CD to Greg at ‘The Big Chill’ last summer & he played the track at Fabric the next
week. He got in touch soon after and was really hyping the track, which just blew us away. He's
also been playing a couple of others of ours too, and he's been fantastic with the feedback and
the advice. He's coming down to play for us for a fundraiser we're doing soon too, which is
really good of him. It's been a real honour to have Greg feeling our vibe! Dicky Trisco at Disco
Deviance has been incredibly supportive too. It's just been great to get such a positive
response to our tunes.

Brothers, Hot Chip, Scott Burns.. There’s so many....
Have you got any other releases in the pipeline yet?
Yes, lots of stuff on the way. Look out for the first Situation release on our own imprint…out
soon!
Have you released any other music either solo or maybe under different
groups / aliases?
Some of us have had original tracks & remixes over the past 10 years on a more house tip, but
you'll have to find that out for yourselves
